As part of its outreach program, the court utilizes volunteer interns and mentors high school students. Under the supervision and direction of the court staff, volunteers are invaluable, helping the court to compile data for special projects, acting as bailiffs while court is in session, filing and preparing jury summons. Interns share knowledge of the day to day operations of the court and in turn they learn to interact with the judge, attorneys and court staff.
The mentor program is an exchange of services for real work experience between a student and the court and can be used to determine if the student has an interest in this particular career.
Volunteers are recognized for their service before the City Council at a special appreciation reception held each year.
If you are interested in volunteering for the court, please submit a letter of interest along with your resume.
