How to obtain a New Concealed Pistol License (CPL) 

New applications for Concealed Pistol Licenses can book using Waitwhile Scheduling

  • For Lake Forest Park residents only
  • All applications require a valid Washington State Driver's License or ID card with a Lake Forest Park address

Your fingerprints will be taken during your appointment. Appointments are available Tuesdays & Thursdays except Legal Holidays. Appointments are scheduled every 30 minutes from 1:00pm until 3:30pm. Children and pets are not allowed at appointments.

Please arrive at your appointment with the completed application, along with a copy of your WA State Driver’s license showing your Lake Forest Park address and payment in the amount of $48.00. Appointments generally take 15-20 mins. Please do not date or sign the application until you arrive.

No appointment is necessary for CPL Renewals during business hours.

Note: Fees are due with application submission. Fees can be paid either in cash (exact amount), or by check (made out to the City of Lake Forest Park).
All fees are non-refundable, even if the application/permit is denied.

Firearms Laws

State of Washington firearms laws can be found in the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 9.41. The City of Lake Forest Park firearms laws can be found in the Lake Forest Park Municipal Code (LFPMC) under section 9.06. More information on CPLs is available from the Department of Licensing.

If you do NOT live in Lake Forest Park

If you do not reside in Lake Forest Park, you must go to the city or county in which you live. If you are in an un-incorporated city, you can apply at the sheriff's office in the county in which you reside.
