Parks Maintenance

The Public Works Department is responsible for landscape maintenance services to preserve and improve the quality of each City outdoor facility. These maintenance services cover 34.58 acres of park and open space. A broad range of equipment and skilled workers are needed to maintain and improve the great variety of trees, shrubs, annuals, grass areas, irrigation systems, pathways (30,000 feet), park structures (drinking fountains, tennis courts, etc.), and outdoor play equipment. The crews oversee these assets including structures and landscape maintenance.

Surface Water: Operations and Maintenance

The Public Works Department provides for the maintenance and operation of the surface water/drainage infrastructure for Lake Forest Park. This includes the inspection, maintenance, protection, and operation of both cities' networks of pipelines, ditches, detention facilities, and streams.

Streets: Operations and Maintenance

The Public Works Department provides maintenance and operation of the streets for Lake Forest Park. The Public Works crew is responsible for pothole repair, shoulder maintenance, sign maintenance, guardrail repair, snow plowing/sanding and road maintenance with includes the annual road overlay program as well as crack sealing and chip sealing.
